“One of the tasks of true friendship is to listen compassionately and creatively to the hidden silences. Often secrets are not revealed in words, they lie concealed in the silence between the words or in the depth of what is unsayable between two people.”
― John O’Donohue, Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom
nice 🙂
Thank you for this beautiful piece of Celtic wisdom. We live in a world of wordiness. Our culture fills every silence with words, noise, distractions of every sort. The silences hold the deepest secrets and connections, the deeper Word that leaves us speechless in the presence of the Other.
Said so eloquently. I believe creativity is found in the silence between heartbeats.
